Individual sellers deliver bottles that they wish to sell at auction to our office in Perth. Once they have been authenticated by our highly-experienced team, photographs are taken and the bottles are listed on the website in the next available auction. Whisky Auctioneer hosts whisky auctions on a frequent basis, during which registered users across the globe can bid on bottles online. The highest bidder at the close of the auction is then notified by email and asked for payment within 3 days. The seller receives payment within 21 working days of the end of the auction.
The value of a bottle of whisky is constantly fluctuating according to supply and demand. Whisky Auctioneer can provide a valuation according to the latest market trends. If you would like a free, no-obligation valuation, please visit our Free Auction Estimate page.
We make it extremely easy for you to get your bottles to us - whether you want to ship them, drop off, use our in-person pick-up service or arrange a courier.
You can find all the steps, information and contact details on our How To Get Your Bottles To Us Help Section.
The end date of the current auction will always be clearly displayed on the notification bar at the top of the website. Our auctions will end anytime from 7pm (UK Local Time).
Please note to those new to our auctions: The auction will NOT finish immediately at 7pm. The closing process simply begins at 7pm (UK Local Time). Our auctions don't close at a specific time - instead, the auction closes based on bidding activity.
If a bid is placed on ANY lot it will extend the auction by a further two minutes. This means that the entire auction will end when there has been no bidding activity placed within the last two minutes after 7pm. The auction will usually take several hours to finish after 7pm (UK Local Time) has passed.
You can submit as many bottles as you like!
Sellers are paid within 21 business days from the end of an auction, however, payment is only completed if the buyer has paid us.
Payment is made by direct bank transfer and can take a few days to show in your account.
Any banking charges or exchange rates are paid for by the seller.
If your item fails to meet a reserve price, we still require the listing fee and reserve fee be paid.
We will then offer you a chance to re-list the item (subject to fees) or discuss returning the bottle to you (subject to delivery charge).
