Karuizawa / Yamanashi Ocean Bright 1970s
A very rare and wonderful old bottling of Japanese whisky.
Distilled at both Karuizawa and Yamanashi, this was likely bottled during the early 1970s.
Both distilleries have long closed, Yamanashi closed back in 1969, pre dating the distillation of the liquid well itno the 1960s, while Sanraku-Ocean Ltd incorporated in 1962, so we can date production of the spirit between 1962 and 1969.
Yamanashi produced malt and grain whisky, which means that this could actually be a blended malt or a blended whisky, unfortunately there is not enough information around to confirm this.
A very interesting bottle from Japan and one containing whiskies we can rarely try or find on the market these days, a real piece of Japanese whisky history!
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
