Glenlivet 15 Year Old Gordon and MacPhail 100 Proof 1950s

A Gordon and MacPhail bottling of Glenlivet, matured for 15 years in sherry wood, and bottled at 100 UK Proof (Proof Strength) under the 'Smiths of Glenlivet' banner in the 1950s.

There are no markings for volume but this is a standard bottle, in the region of 75cl.

This bottle was consigned as part of a single collection all purchased at Hay & Son Ltd. Whisky Auctioneer Ltd received this bottle in it's original Vendor Packaging including Hay & Son branded bottle wrapping paper. This has been removed for the purpose of photographing but can be provided to the buyer upon request. Please note that vendor packaging is not considered part of the Lot and is provided for the sake of provenance only. As such it's condition is not considered to reflect upon the value of the Lot.

Hay & Son Ltd. was a prominent Yorkshire based Wine and Spirits merchants, blenders and independent bottlers. Founded in 1829 the firm operated 20 stores at it's hight but sadly closed it's doors in 1970.
