product Details

Compass Box Spice Tree Banned Edition

A blend of different single malt whiskies, all produced in the northern Highland region, and matured in unique barrels.

This is the original Spice Tree, which used 'fresh new oak staves' placed within the casks to add additional character. However the Scotch Whisky Association didn't like this one bit, they saw it as a breach of the traditional methods used to create whisky.

Henceforth this first bottling of Spice Tree was removed from sale and Compass Box were forced to re-think their production method for the brand.

This rare Compass Box is popular not only because of the controversy, but also the quality of whisky!

Important Notice

We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.

Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
