Old Grand-Dad 1968 Bottled in Bond 5 Year Old 100 Proof
Featuring the image of Basil Hayden, Old Grand-dad is a classic of the bourbon world.
Distilled and bottled by National Distillers at Old Grand-dad distillery in 1968 and bottled in bond in the Fall of 1973. Bottled in Bond bourbon is required to state both the distillation and bottling site on the label, as well as be 100 US proof.
National Distillers was born out of the American Medicinal Spirits Company, the brainchild of Otto Wathen who used it to keep bourbon production alive during Prohibition. Old Grand-dad is the enduring testament to his achievement.
Jim Beam purchased the brand in 1987 and moved its production to their Beam distillery. The Old Grand-dad site is now silent, operating solely as a warehouse facility.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
