Collector's Item 1953 Bottled in Bond 16 Year Old 100 Proof
An incredibly rare bourbon from the Collector's Item series. This was distilled in the Fall of 1955 at a distillery registered DSP-KY-51, which has been known as both Greenbrier and Double Springs over the years.
The bourbon was bonded and bottled at 20 years old by the Kentucky Distilling Company, formerly Dowling Distillers. Interestingly, the bonded warehouses in question were located at Hoffman Distillery, also known as Old Commonwealth. Old Commonwealth is the site where Julian Van Winkle III bottled his legendary Old Rip Van Winkle brand. He purchased the distillery from Ben Ripy, who owned it at this time this bottle was produced.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
