Dalmore 1978 Constellation 33 Year Old Cask #1

An impressively aged Dalmore from their elegant Constellation Collection. Distilled in 1978 and matured for over 33 years, including a final 4 in the finest Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks!

The Constellation Collection consists of 21 vintages, dating from 1964 through to 1992. Each bottle features hallmarked silver stoppers and an engraved decanter style bottle.

From Whyte & Mackay:

"The Dalmore are pleased to donate this bottle to the Charity Auction in support of The Beatson Cancer Charity.

The Dalmore Constellation Collection brings together a spectrum of natural cask strength vintages created in our iconic Highland distillery.  This particular majestic whisky, distilled in 1978, was initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks for 29 years, giving it its first base of soft vanilla & honey notes. The final character of the whisky was then derived from its maturation in casks which had previously contained 30 year old Matusalem oloroso sherry. After four years, the sherry has gifted the whisky with a beautiful balance and richness that can only be achieved using these exquisite casks.

'This whisky has unusual notes of peach, mango and tropical fruits. I selected this cask for the Collection as it showcases a different side of The Dalmore.' - Richard Paterson, Master Distiller at The Dalmore
