Highland Park 50 Year Old 2018 Release
An absolutely stunning release from Orkney's legendary Highland Park distillery.
The liquid is a vatting of just two Spanish oak, sherry seasoned, hogshead casks which were filled in 1964. The casks had lay undisturbed at the back of warehouse number 7 at the Highland Park distillery until 2008 when they were first sampled and considered to be of astonishing quality. Due to the incredible quality of the liquid, it was decided to transport the casks separately to Highland Parks warehouse in Glasgow where they were married. When they brought the two casks together a small amount of the original Highland Park 50 Year Old released in 2010 was added to the vatting. The liquid was then bottled in 2018.
The whisky is presented in a decorative glass bottle, designed by Scottish Designer, Andy Bowman and inspired by the distillery’s Norse ancestry. A stunning oak box designed and handcrafted by Scottish Master Craftsman and Designer, John Galvin holds the whisky alongside a polished crystal decanter and a brown leather book which provides an insight into the development of this exquisite 50 Year Old.
A limited release of only 274 bottles, each one is individually numbered and hand-signed by Edrington's longest serving Whisky Maker, Max McFarlane.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
