Benrinnes 1985 The Bottlers 17 Year Old
Like the First Cask brand, The Bottlers is an independent label produced by a well-connected wine distributor. The bottles, produced by Raeburn Fine Wines in Edinburgh, are labelled simplistically and near-identically to each other, a no-frills approach that highlights their focus on cask selection first. The Bottlers releases have developed a cult following because of this, and old and new releases alike are increasingly sought after.
This Benrinnes was distilled in June 1985 and bottled in June 2003 from a refill sherry butt, cask number #1852.
Until 2007, Benrinnes had a unique triple distillation process that resulted in a single malt highly prized by blenders for its distinct "meaty" quality. So much so in fact, that none was spared for an official distillery bottling until United Distillers introduced the 15 year old Flora & Fauna release. Thankfully, the distillery has always featured in the catalogues of independent bottlers, giving ample opportunity to experience this sought after single malt.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
