Peter Dawson Special 1950s / US Import
Peter Dawson is a true classic of Blended whisky history. He began his journey into the world of spirits as a grain merchant in 1882. Eventually he started producing his own blends and enjoyed great success. However, his name will always be connected to the S.S. Politician which ran aground off the Hebridean island of Eriskay in 1941. Cases of his Special and Old Curio blended whiskies were on board and would go on to inspire Sir Compton Mackenzie’s tale, Whisky Galore!.
This particular bottle was imported to the United States via Julius Wile & Sons of New York.
