product Details

Auchroisk 2010 St Margaret of Scotland

Auchroisk distillery was built by Justerini & Brooks in 1972 to provide malt for their blends. Despite this, there was an immediate focus on its single malt as well, and it was first bottled in 1986. These were vintage-dated releases, and some of the earliest to use cask finishing. This was never advertised though, and the distillery left Balvenie to take the credit for the innovation. Its single malt has also appeared many times from independent labels like this.

This is an unusual release, bottled by a church! Distilled in 2010, this cask of Auchroisk was finished in a first fill Port cask as of May 2017, and bottled at Aceo's warehouses at the former Coleburn distillery. The cask was selected by Angus Findlay and Graham Peel, and the bottling was produced for St Margaret's church in Aberlour. The 260 bottles were intended for release at the Spirit of Speyside festival in 2020, although the event was sadly cancelled. All of the money raised from the sale of the bottles will be donated for maintenance of the 19th century church building.

Important Notice

We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.

Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
