Kilchoman 2012 Comparison Series Batch #1 2 x 70cl / UK
Opened in 2005, Kilchoman was the first new distillery to be built on Islay for 124 years. Its proprietors are the Wills family, and the distillery saw a return of the practice of “farm distilling” to the island, with its own barely fields, malt floors and kilns. Today around 25% of its barley requirement is self-fulfilled, and in 2011 they bottled their first 100% Islay release of single farm, single malt. The distillery’s first release came in 2009, and it has cemented a fine reputation ever since.
Realised in April 2021, these two bottles make-up Batch #1 of The Comparison Series. Each of the two spirits were distilled in November 2012 and aged in a pair of ex-Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrels. Cask #719 was made using 100% Islay grown barley and cask #726 was made from barley hailing from the Port Ellan maltings. Both casks were bottled on 25th February 2021.
Batch #1 from the series was made exclusive to the United Kingdom.
This lot will include a two bottle shipping fee.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
