Hyde No.5 The Áras Cask Grain
Based in Skibbereen in County Cork, the Hyde brand was devised by Conor Hyde of Hibernia Distillers. First launched in 2015, the brand sources double-distilled single malt from a single Irish distillery, and triple-distilled single grain from another. The casks are aged at their own bonded warehouse where Conor Hyde selects them for every release. The Hyde name has long roots in Irish history, with Douglas Hyde inaugurated as the first President of Ireland in 1938. The brand draws heavily on this heritage, with several of its releases titled, The Presidents Cask.
Release No5 is a single grain whiskey which has been finished in ex-Burgundy wine casks.
