This is a 1990s release of the core-range Special Old Reserve, presented in the iconic triangular bottle, designed for the company in 1956 and first used for the Glenfiddich brand in 1961. Interestingly, despite being the world's first single malt brand, "Pure Malt" was the preferred wording on the label of their flagship product until 2000.
For a while these were presented in Barringer Wallis & Manners tins, each depicting one of eleven different Highland clans.
A malt distillery in Speyside that distilled its first spirit on Christmas day in 1887 and has remained family-owned by William Grant & Sons ever since. The company was the first to make a single malt brand its flagship product and Glenfiddich was also the first distillery to open to the public.
Distillery Bottling is a term used to define a whisky bottled by the company that produced it, using the official branding of the distillery itself. This is also known as an "official bottling" or sometimes shortened to OB.
