A very old Laphroaig bottled by D. Johnston & Co, the name of the its parent company up until 1950. Perhaps the most interesting element regarding this bottle is that the label carries the words Non-Peaty.
This was produced in the 1940s, a significant period in the history of Laphroaig as the distillery shut down production in the first half of the decade due to shortages during the second world war. Laphroaig continued all other aspects of the business including bottling whiskies such as this, all the while also doing its bit for the war effort by housing The First Company of Royal Engineers following the battle of Dunkirk, and providing Laphroaig House as a base for the RAF. The distillery's sales actually increased during this period as demand was high in the military messes they supplied to across the UK. The distillery re-opened in 1945 at the close of hostilities in Europe.
A world-renowned Islay distillery, famous for its distinctive character of its heavily peated spirit and it has one of the longest-serving single malt brands. It was built in 1815 by Alexander and Donald Johnston and is today owned by Suntory Holdings through its Beam Suntory division.

Distillery Bottling is a term used to define a whisky bottled by the company that produced it, using the official branding of the distillery itself. This is also known as an "official bottling" or sometimes shortened to OB.
