The Bristol Brandy Company was established by John Barrett in 1973 and its primary business was in selecting and importing cognac. It operated for two decades before being dissolved in 1994, after which Barrett went on to found the rum company, Bristol Spirits.
The company had a brief but notable dealing in the Scotch whisky market in 1992 when it had a selection of exclusive whiskies from United Distillers' Flora & Fauna series bottled for it.
