Bulloch Lade & Co

Bulloch Lade & Co was formed in 1855 by the merger of Bulloch Co & Lade & Co. It went on to acquire the Caol Ila and Lossit distilleries on Islay and built Benmore in Campbeltown. Despite declaring bankruptcy in 1920, a new Bulloch Lade & Co was incorporated in 1924, which joined the Distillers Company Limited in 1926.

Under DCL, the new company retained the license to Caol Ila and bottled its single malt brand alongside blends such as BL, Old Rarity and Glen Ila. The company was eventually dissolved by Diageo in 2007.
