Macdonald Greenlees Ltd was a Scottish blending company, originally founded in 1840 as Alexander & Macdonald. It was acquired by brothers James and Samuel Greenlees in 1871 before merging with William Willians to form Macdonald Greenlees & Williams Distillers in 1919. By the time it was folded into the Distillers Company (DCL) in 1925, it counted a number of subsidiary blenders within its group, including James Munro & Son, R.H. Thomson & Co, Ainslie & Heilbron, Donald Fisher and John Gillon & Co. It also owned the Auchenblae, Argyll, Dalwhinnie, Auchtertool and Glendullan distilleries.
DCL incorporated the company as Macdonald Greenlees in 1926, and it continued to produce its various blended Scotch brands, including Sandy Macdonald, President and Grand Old Parr. It also marketed Glendullan single malt in the 1970s and 1980s before ceasing to trade under ownership of United Distillers. The company was dissolved by Diageo in 2008.
