Master of Malt

Master of Malt is one of the larger whisky retail companies, although it was originally established in 1985 as a mail-order independent bottler. It opened its first shop in 1990 before moving into online sales in 1997. As of 2008 it has been organised as part of the Atom Group where it is joined by Atom Brands and a distribution arm called Maverick Drinks.

The company's first independent bottlings were produced in the late 1980s and, despite having moved into more general retail, it continues to offer Master of Malt branded whiskies to this day.
