W&A Gilbey is a former subsidiary of Diageo, originally established in the 19th century as a wine merchant before making a name for itself in the Irish and Scotch whisky trades as well as a gin distiller.
Although the drinks giant dissolved W&A Gilbey in 2019, the company’s legacy lives on through the continued production at its former Glen Spey, Strathmill and Knockando distilleries, all still part of the Diageo portfolio, and its Catto blend which is marketed by the Interbev group.
