A malt whisky distillery located in the Hyogo prefecture of Japan. Opened in 1984, it is owned by Eigashima Shuzo, a historic sake producer that first obtained a whisky license in 1919. Originally known as White Oak, the distillery was renamed in 2019 and markets its single malt as Akashi.
A Japanese whisky brand introduced in 2007 by Eigashima Shuzo Co. It was originally devised as a means of differentiating its single malt produced at Eigashima (formerly White Oak) distillery from its blends, however now encompasses both categories.
