By volume the largest single malt producer on the isle of Islay. It is part of the extensive Scotch whisky holdings of Diageo who, in addition to marketing its peated single malt, have also assigned it as one of the four regional brands home of the Johnnie Walker blends.
A brand of blended malt bottlings from Douglas Laing & Co. Originally launched as The Double (via its Langside Distillers subsidiary) the label originally contravened Scotch whisky regulations by providing the percentage of each stated malt in the vattings.
A trading named used by Hunter Laing & Co to bottle its Hepburn's Choice and Distiller's Art brands of independent single cask Scotch whiskies. It was first introduced in the 1970s by Douglas Laing & Co to market export blended Scotch brands, also appearing on its Douglas of Drumlanrig labels.
