This limited bottling is part of a series of multi-vintage Karuizawa from the distillery's final years of production, each bottled at cask strength and labelled with a different image from the Fugaku Sanjurokkei or 36 Views of Mount Fuji print series. The series of Japanese woodblock prints were created by artist Katsushika Hokusai in the 1830's, and proved so popular that an additional 10 views were added shortly afterwards.
This is the twentieth edition, featuring the print Tea house at Koishikawa, The morning after a snowfall.
A legendary name in Japanese whisky that developed significant cult status due to many exceptional releases of its whisky following its closure in 2000. The original distillery was dismantled in 2016, however a new one was built 7 miles away in the town of Karuizawa, commencing production in 2023.
A Taiwanese import and distribution company founded in 2010 by Eric Huang. It is the parent company of Spirits Shop Selection and most notably is known for bottling an array of highly sought-after Karuizawa single casks and 1999-2000 vintage vatting of Karuizawa from Huang's personal collection.
