Macallan Oscuro pre-2017
Launched in 2010, this was originally the premium offering from the Macallan travel retail 1824 Collection, not to be confused with the other 1824 series that they marketed between 2012-2018. The travel retail bottles were replaced with the Quest Collection in 2017, the Oscuro however was retained.
The Macallan Oscuro was created using whisky distilled between 1987 and 1997 and in true Macallan fashion is full of plenty of sherried characteristics.
This version is the 2015 redesign of the packaging, now presented in the premium decanter style bottle first used for the Macallan Reflexion. Only briefly produced, the Oscuro was again updated, this time with a nex box, in 2017.
