A historic Kentucky distillery and one of the most revered names in American whiskey. It was opened in 1935 and is lauded for the wheat recipe bourbon produced for its Old Fitzgerald and W.L. Weller brands. Its name lives on through these labels, however it has been closed since 1992.
A sought-after brand of wheated Kentucky straight bourbon, produced for the Van Winkle Whiskey Company at Buffalo Trace distillery. The brand originally dates to the early post-Prohibition years when it was introduced by Julian Van Winkle I, later being revived by his son in the 1970s.
A business established in 1972 by son Julian Van Winkle Jnr, son of the now legendary 'Pappy,' respectively. He was later joined in the business by his own son, Julian III, in 1977. The company's primary interest was selling commemorative decanters, which it filled with Stitzel-Weller bourbon.
