The Johnnie Walker Collection: One Hundred Years of Striding

This September, Whisky Auctioneer is delighted to present the largest and most comprehensive Johnnie Walker collection ever to come to auction.

Built over 20 years by collector Frans Op den Kamp, this extraordinary collection brings together more than 1,600 full-size bottles, 600 miniatures and 1,000 pieces of advertising and memorabilia, charting the evolution of one of the world’s most recognisable whisky brands from the early 20th century to the present day.

Historic highlights include Old Highland Whisky, Special Old Highland Whisky and Extra Special Old Highland Whisky, alongside more than 100 pre-1968 corked Black, Red and Swing bottlings and examples of Cardhu, Talisker and Mortlach referencing John Walker on the label.

Collectors will also find an exceptional selection of rare and modern releases, including the highly elusive Directors Blend series, the 1805 Celebration Blend – limited to just 200 bottles – and the Signature Blend by Jenson Button, of which only 20 bottles were created. The collection also features the Epic Dates series and more than 280 Blue Label, 200 Red Label and 500 Black Label bottlings, alongside special editions such as Selfridges 100 Years and Hill Street Opening.

Beyond the whisky itself, more than 1,000 pieces of advertising and memorabilia offer a fascinating visual record of Johnnie Walker’s changing branding, advertising and identity across more than a century.
