Old Orkney

Old Orkney is a very old whisky brand that is currently owned by Perth-based independent bottler, Decadent Drinks. It is well-known for its unique O.O motif and was originally used to market malt whisky from the Stromess distillery on Orkney. The brand was introduced in the late 19th century by Roderick and Duncan MacPherson and although the distillery closed in 1927, remained available until the 1930s.

The label was revived by Gordon & MacPhail in the 1990s and the Elgin company registered the trademark in 2009 before selling it to Decadent Drinks in 2020. The latter's founder, Angus MacRaild, cited the O.O brand as an inspiration for the company's bottling ethos and it currently releases small batch and single cask Orkney single malts under the name.
