Decadent Drinks

Decadent Drinks are a Perth-based, independent bottler of whisky and other fine spirits and drinks. Started by Angus MacRaild in 2019, the company evolved somewhat organically (by accident) out of a creative collaboration when Angus decided to try some hobby bottling as a side project. The bottlings were a success and as a result, Decadent Drinks was founded. 

 

The company released the Whisky Sponge series as its main brand during its first five years of business. A satirical-themed, humourous and often surreal brand that was based on the satirical whisky blog of the same name that Angus had written during the preceding decade. After five years, the Whisky Sponge series reached Edition No.100, at which point that series concluded and Decadent Drinks transitioned to a new flagship brand: Whiskyland. 

 

Along the way, Decadent Drinks also developed and launched other bottling series. Equinox & Solstice, a quarterly, seasonal themed series of sessionable, natural malt whiskies all botted at 48.5%. Old Orkney, a heritage brand that Decadent Drinks purchased and re-developed as a home for Orkney single malts and similarly features original, humourous artworks on the labels. 

 

Since 2024, Decadent Drinks has primarily focussed on Whiskyland, a humourous, surreal and satirical take on modern whisky culture where the world itself becomes the character. The series was also capped at precisely 100 "Chapters" and is a home for the very best whiskies Decadent Drinks can source. This brand is supported by Decadent Drams, a broad and all-encompassing home for the full range of whiskies and other drinks that Decadent Drinks offers, featuring completely original label artworks on each bottling. 

 

Decadent Drinks very deliberately sources and bottles a wide range of spirits other than Scotch Whisky. Rum, calvados, cognac and armagnac have all featured over the years, as well as more left-field selections such as wine and pineau des charentes. Decadent Drinks philosophy is to take a very serious approach to sourcing and to quality, but to present their selections with original, frequently humourous and surreal artworks that promote and celebrate fun and creativity.
