Allt-A-Bhainne is a Speyside malt distillery built by Seagram Distillers in 1975. Today it is part of the Pernod Ricard portfolio and operated by their Scotch whisky division, Chivas Brothers.
Somewhat unglamorous in its appearance and function, the distillery operates predominantly for the provision of the Chivas Brothers' blended Scotch portfolio and is more commonly found in the independent bottling market than representing its own brand.
Built by Seagram Distillers to provide fillings for its Chivas Regal and Royal Salute blends, the purpose of Allt-A-Bhainne remained unchanged under Pernod Ricard ownership until 2018 when it became one of just six distilleries from the extensive Chivas Brothers portfolio, at the time, to market its own single malt brand.
Despite this, the distillery's original purpose remains its core function and the Allt-A-Bhainne brand - which bottles its peated single malt variant - remains limited to a single no age statement release.
