Tullibardine is a Highland malt distillery located next to the A9 at the Perthshire town of Blackford. It was built in 1949 by William Delmé-Evans and promptly sold to the blender, Brodie Hepburn, four years later. The company was then acquired by Invergordon Distillers and Tullibardine malt was used in its blends until the shuttered it in 1994.

The distillery was re-opened by Michael Beamish in 2003 and a new focus placed on its single malt. As of 2011 it has been owned by Picard Vins & Spiritueux via its Terroirs Distillers subsidiary and now provides important fillings to the Highland Queen blend as well.

Tullibardine single malts were bottled by Brodie Hepburn from as early as the 1960s and available in both 5- and 10-year-old age statements. Invergordon Distillers continued this practice in the 1970s, bottling Tullibardine in the same style as its Tamnavulin brand and retaining the 10-year-old as the core expression. Like Tamnavulin, it too got a brand revamp in the 1980s and despite its eventual closure, the 10-year-old continued to be bottled through the 1990s by Whyte & Mackay alongside occasional limited editions in the Stillman's Dram series.

A core range was eschewed by the new ownership in 2003, which opted instead for a release schedule of regular vintage limited editions. These often featured secondary maturation in attempt to revive the often tired old blending stock inherited from the Whyte & Mackay era.

The current core range was introduced by Terroir Distillers in 2013 and it consists of a collection of non-age statements called Sovereign, 225, 225 and 500. These are joined by 15-, 18-, 21- and 25-year-olds.
